Our Mission Statement

Ontario ASCD, a diverse learning community that promotes excellence in education, is dedicated to supporting the growth and success of each learner. A strong and thriving membership is vital to an organization’s success. Communication through a variety of means is critical, not only to ensure that we serve our membership, but also influence the wider educational community.

Ontario ASCD is committed to:

  • Building an active, involved, and committed membership
  • Providing high-quality learning opportunities
  • Engaging a diverse learning community of provincial and national educators in reflective dialogue
  • Actively advocating effective policy, practice and curriculum in Ontario

Ontario ASCD Goals

  1. Membership – By the year 2009, Ontario ASCD will increase membership opportunities for involvement in activities, membership and leadership.
  2. Programs, Products & Services – To develop capacity in teaching, learning and leadership and to advance the vision of the Association by 2009, Ontario ASCD will provide pertinent programs, products and services.
  3. Communication – By 2009, in order to impact learning, teaching and leadership, Ontario ASCD will build a high profile with all stakeholders in the Ontario education community.
  4. Leadership and Governance – By the year 2009, Ontario ASCD will have a governance structure that enables the leadership to realize the shared vision through the strategic
    plan.
  5. Influence – In order to become visible, respected and sought after by the year 2009, Ontario ASCD will become informed and proactive on issues of learning, teaching and leadership.
