We are fortunate to have as keynote speaker for this event Dr. Heidi Hayes Jacobs. As President of Curriculum Designers, Dr. Hayes Jacobs has served as an education consultant to schools and organizations throughout the world. Her work in Mapping, Active Literacy, and Curriculum provides a powerful and effective structural frameworks for schools working to update their curriculum for 21st Century Learning.
As a complement to Dr. Hayes Jacobs, we are pleased to present Dr. Thomas Homer-Dixon, an writer and academc who's recent research has focused on how societies adapt to complex economic, ecological, and technological change. Dr. Homer-Dixon is the author of The Upside of Down: Catastrophe, Creativity, and the Renewal of Civilization, which won the 2006 National Business Book Award, The Ingenuity Gap, which won the 2001 Governor General’s Non-Fiction Award, and Environment, Scarcity, and Violence, which won the Caldwell Prize of the American Political Science.
